This article no doubt appeared in the paper in mid-1945. There are no dates on the paper. Here is what the caption says:

 
 
"PORTER SINKS - Mortally stricken from the explosion of a Jap suicide plane near Okinawa early in June, the destroyer William D. Porter (background), is down by the stern as an LCS which aided in the rescue of all her crew stands off."
